Chris Nelson is a lifelong multi-genre composer who has always favored the songwriting aspect of songwriting over gigging and marketing. His first commercial release, "Well of Good Hope," is now available at CDBaby.
Chris plays piano, organ, and guitar, as well as French horn, trumpet, recorder, and bass. Raised on classical music, he colors his folk and jazz-pop tunes with intricate harmony and rich arrangements, then records and produces them at home, with the attention to detail of a copy editor (that's his day job).
In an era when self-expression is valued more than songwriting craft, Chris values both, and clings to the Great American Songbook tradition of polishing each song into a gem.
